Assoc. Prof. Michal Kubát studied Political Science at the Institute of Political Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University in Prague (FSS CU). He completed a one year study abroad programme at the Institute of Political Sciences at Jagiellonian University in Krakow. In 2005 he obtained a Doctoral Degree in International Area Studies at FSS CU. Four years later he became an Associate Professor of Political Science at the Masaryk University in Brno.
Michal Kubát has published several monographs in Czech, English and Polish. He is the author of numerous scholarly articles. He deals with comparative politics (especially democratic and non-democratic political regimes and political opposition) and the political systems of Central and Eastern Europe, especially Poland.
